Part Time/Seasonal Application


Recreation Center Health Screening Staff

August 1st through October 31st (1) staff member assigned to the Recreation Center at 220 Neptune Drive.  Staff member will check in users of the Recreation Center daily to secure written COVID-19 waivers from members of the public seeking to use the basketball & pickleball courts, indoor track and exercise area. Staff member to greet users upon their entering the facility, recording their arrival and departure times as well as names, addresses and contact information for contact tracing purposes. In addition, staff will perform temperature checks of all users prior to their entering the field house and ask each user to respond to the standard COVID-19 questionnaire to ensure it is safe for them to use the facility.

Lower Mall Ambassador

Now through October 31st (1 position) staff member is up to 92 days for up to 8 hours per day. Staff will be assigned to the downtown public Mall to interact with the public to encourage people to comply with social distancing requirements and protocols. Staff would be present at the farmers market, on site food vendor carts and during scheduled events and activities taking place on the Lower Mall daily.  Pay is $13.25 per hour.

Athletic Field Supervisors

September 12th through October 24th we will be looking for 3 staff members to be assigned to Edwards, Lishness and Stowe School athletic complexes on 7 consecutive Saturdays. Employees will ensure that the recreational youth athletic programs taking place at each location is in compliance with State of Maine DECD and Aspen Institute guidelines for the particular sports being conducted at each site Pay is $13.25

Part Time Custodial Staff

Now through October 31st (2) part time custodial staff to perform daily ventilation of the field house and cleaning all surfaces, equipment, restrooms, lobby and all public spaces within the building. The facility is closed for one hour twice daily for cleaning, ventilation and disinfection. Work is performed by two maintenance personnel. Pay is $13.25 per hour.

Town Hall Greeter

Now through November 6th - individual(s) to fill the position of greeter for the Town   This person will ensure proper health measures are being followed for visitors to town offices.  This person will also control flow to select town offices to ensure, proper social distancing, and that overcrowding of spaces does not occur.   The position hours to be covered by 1 or more individuals is 8:15am to 4:15pm, MTW, 8:15am- 5:45pm TH and 8:15 to 2:45pm Friday.  Pay is $13.25 per hour.

Other seasonal opportunity


The Parks & Recreation Department has two openings for seasonal parks maintenance workers for the time frame of August 24th- Oct 31st. Seasonal positions are temporary and will be up to 40 hours per week (non-benefit eligible). Flexible work week schedules are available. Some positions will include Saturdays and Sundays.

Duties:  Mowing, upkeep and daily cleanup of a variety of park areas; athletic field preparation; painting; securing park gates; trash pickup; and support of special events.

Requirements:  Must be able to operate small power hand tools and riding mower; able to lift and carry 50 pounds; must have driver's license with a good driving record.

Criminal and driving background checks will be conducted for final candidates. Steel- toed work boots are required. Pay range is $14.00-$14.50 per hour, DOE.
