Energy Efficient Building Codes 

Asimages of January 1st, 2022, Brunswick requires compliance with the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) for all new homes, renovations, and additions. The Department of Energy has determined that this code is 20%-25% more efficient than the previous code, the 2009 IECC. Builders and developers are encouraged to use the State's stretch code, the 2021 IECC. The stretch code is more efficient than the 2015 IECC, following this code can help lower future energy bills and reduce emissions.

LED Lighting 

The town of Brunswick currently has full LED Lighting in the Public Works building and in the Curtis Memorial Library. The town is currently working towards introducing more LED lighting in all outdoor lighting, traffic lights, and all municipal owned buildings and facilities throughout Brunswick.
