[ARCHIVED] Traffic Alerts - Week of July 18, 2022

Traffic Alerts for the Week July 18th 

Central Fire Station – The contractor will continue work associated with the construction of the new Fire Station.  At times temporary lane or road closures of Pleasant Street, Webster Street, and Turner Street may be necessary.

Church Road – Milling will begin on Church Road Monday morning, July 18, 2022, at approximately 4:00 AM. Work Will begin at Pleasant Street and continuing to Greenwood Road.  Construction on Church Road will be on-going with the contractor reclaiming parts of the road and shimming others before placing surface pavement on the entire road. The road will be reduced to one-way traffic during working hours.  

Gurnet Road – This Maine DOT project will be ongoing for a couple more weeks. 

Pine Street – The contractor has not provided a final schedule for placement of pavement at this time.

Woodside Road, Raymond Road, Miranda Street – In conjunction with the Church Road project, the contractor will also be working on Woodside Road, Raymond Road, and Miranda Street. Woodside and Raymond will be reduced to one-way traffic during working hours. Miranda Street may be reduced to local traffic only during construction.

Upcoming Projects:

August

Armory Street – The contractor will strip and repave Armory Street. The road will be local traffic only during construction.

Baribeau Drive – The contractor will be overlaying the road and upgrading pedestrian ramps to be ADA compliant. Sections of the road will be reduced to one-way traffic during working hours. 

Bath Road Culvert Replacement – A request for bids was advertised this week for the replacement of a culvert running under Route 1 on Bath Road. This project will require a coffer dam to be constructed at either end of the existing culvert and bypass pumps will be set up. The existing culvert at Thompson Pond will be replaced. During construction, a stretch of Bath Road between Sunnybrook Senior Living and Mallet Springs Water & Ice will be reduced to one-way traffic.

Bowker Street– The contractor will strip and repave the roadway and sidewalk on Bowker Street. During construction, the street may be reduced to local traffic only.  

Graham Road – The contractor will overlay the road. The road may be reduced to local traffic only during construction.

Hacker Road – The contractor will overlay the road with localized full depth repairs. Sections of the road will be reduced to one-way traffic during working hours.

Lisbon Road – The contractor will overlay the road. Sections of the road will be reduced to one-way traffic during working hours.

Weymouth Street – The contractor will strip and repave the dead-end portion of Weymouth Street. The road will be open local traffic only during construction.

As always construction is weather dependent and subject to many variables, updates will be provided as they become available.
