The postponement is intended to allow for a review of the assessing process generally and the
methods used to determine taxable property values. The Town Council’s Finance Committee
(consisting of Councilors Nat Shed, Dan Ankeles, and Sande Updegraph) has been charged with
assisting in the development and delivery of educational outreach about the assessing process. The
Committee will address mobile home parks, neighborhood codes, the working waterfront on a local
level, and other related topics.
The Finance Committee will be meeting on Thursday, August 31, 6:30pm, Town Hall,
85 Union Street, to begin formulating its communication plan. The community is invited to
attend in person or via ZOOM, or to watch live on TV3. An agenda and links are available on the
